Moar Korean Patch Details

Korean Aion has been hit by another patch. Once again the same guys from Abyss Addicts have translated the patch notes.

There are two major points in my eyes:
We added reward for successful fortress defenses. The leader of the legion in control of a fortress will now receive badges through mail. The amount and the grade of the badges will vary depending on the level of the fortress.
Hooray for defense incentive, but this seems a bit off. Only the owning legion? This means the defending force will always be inferior to the attacking force. It may result in increased incentive for legions to ally and share but it won't help pugs at all, while pug attackers will still get medals for their time. Bizzare decision.

Increased experience gain from crafting and extracting.
Wayhey!

As with 1.6, no word on when we can expect it to hit. :(

  1. Hopefully they change their mind on only giving medals to the owning legion before this hits.

Unless the goal was to have fortresses stagnate less, then this will accomplish just that. They'll change hands every time they go vulnerable.

  2. This patch move may make zerg guilds have a better advantage in defending forts. If a zerg guild can field 200 people than they won't need anyone.

On the other hand the smaller 30,60, and 90 man legions will start bickering, and fighting amongst each other on who gets to claim keeps, and get the defense rewards.

It will be interesting to see how all this works out a few more months down the road when you see who sticks the game out, gets 50, and so on.

  3. Lol... So the current status on our server is the defending owners of the big legions don't even bother to defend... I see a sharp decline in others protecting their fortress for them.

Maybe they might actually try and defend now instead of win trading? But they've already gotten a piss poor reputation on each side -- the legions that participate in this kind of trading.

  4. I wouldn't really call it win trading. The game mechanics at this stage penalise fort defense and promote just passing vulnerable forts on. If NCSoft just came out and said "yeah we built the system around fort trading" I wouldn't bat an eyelash.

  5. Rather than going off in your comments, went ahead and posted something over at quirkyquiescence heh.

Now just to hold off on leveling a second character and getting her a profession, moar exps ftw.
